Singapore’s Land Transport Authority, LTA, announced on November 25 that BYD has won an order for 240 single-deck pure electric buses in Singapore.
The order, valued at S$108.1 million (about US$81 million), is Singapore’s largest electric bus order to date.
The order for another 120 electric buses was awarded to the manufacturer of Cycle&Carriage Automotive (in cooperation with Zhongtong Bus).
It is understood that the companies participating in the bidding, in addition to BYD and Zhongtong Bus, there are also Volvo, Yutong, Foton, Scania, Weichai and other well-known domestic and foreign car companies, but in the end, BYD stood out from these car companies and took the largest order.
